Revitalized Cottage Comforts
Hidden Pond, nestled on 60 acres of woodland in Kennebunkport, Maine, has unveiled 16 completely redesigned two-bedroom cottages for its 2026 season, which
began on May 1. The renovation, spearheaded by Superette Studio, introduced two distinct design themes: 'The Maine Coast' and 'Woodlands.' These aesthetics harmoniously blend seaside lightness with earthy forest textures, creating a cohesive yet unique charm across each dwelling. The studio thoughtfully incorporated existing furnishings to maintain the property's beloved eclectic character and sense of history. These two-bedroom cottages are designed for extended stays, accommodating up to six guests with dedicated dining areas, living rooms, and fully equipped kitchens featuring modern appliances like air fryers, blenders, and Nespresso machines. Each cottage offers a furnished porch and an outdoor shower, enhanced with premium Salt & Stone bath products. Select two-story cottages now boast cozy nap nooks, providing private alcoves perfect for reading or resting, further elevating the residential feel of these accommodations.
Immersive Nature and Activities
The resort's programming is deeply interwoven with its natural surroundings, offering guests a chance to connect with the landscape. Activities include forest bathing sessions and guided treks along the Timber Point coastal trail, providing serene experiences in nature. For wellness enthusiasts, outdoor yoga, meditation, and sound healing sessions are available at the tranquil Tree Spa. Creative workshops, such as bouquet making and watercolor painting, encourage artistic expression. Younger visitors aged six and above can engage in the Marine Science Camp, fostering an appreciation for local marine life. Beyond the human guests, Hidden Pond is exceptionally welcoming to canine companions. It features an in-room pet dining menu, complimentary 'pup cups' to delight furry friends, and even a curated 'stick library' for their entertainment. Extensive trail access across the property ensures dogs can explore alongside their owners. Additionally, a partnership with Camp Snap allows guests to borrow retro, screen-free cameras, encouraging them to capture their memories in a unique, analog fashion.
Farm-to-Table Dining
The culinary experience at Hidden Pond centers around its acclaimed restaurant, Earth at Hidden Pond. The restaurant proudly showcases seasonal menus that highlight the freshness and quality of locally sourced ingredients, with a significant portion coming directly from the resort's own on-site farm. Guests have the unique opportunity to participate in harvesting sessions, gaining firsthand experience of where their food originates. Furthermore, 'Meet the Gardener' events are regularly held throughout the season, allowing visitors to interact with the individuals responsible for cultivating the resort's produce and learn more about sustainable farming practices. This integrated approach to dining not only provides exceptional meals but also deepens guests' connection to the land and the resort's commitment to natural, seasonal flavors, reinforcing the overall sense of place and mindful living that Hidden Pond aims to cultivate.
