Seamless Boarding Process
Commencing your journey on the new European Sleeper train between Paris and Berlin is remarkably straightforward. The train typically arrives at the platform
10 to 15 minutes before its scheduled departure from both major cities, providing ample time for passengers to locate their carriage. Unlike air travel, there's no need for extensive security checks, simplifying the embarkation process. Staff are readily available on the platform to guide passengers to their designated wagon. Once aboard, friendly stewards will introduce themselves, offer a refreshing glass of water, and confirm your seat reservation. For any immediate needs during your trip, a convenient call button is situated within each cabin, ensuring assistance is always within reach throughout your overnight voyage.
Diverse Service Classes
The European Sleeper offers three distinct service classes to cater to various travel needs and budgets: Budget, Classic, and Comfort. Regardless of your chosen class, the cabins themselves are of uniform size, distinguished by sliding doors and curtains for privacy. The main difference lies in the occupancy and amenities. Budget cabins accommodate up to six passengers, arranged in a face-to-face seating configuration with a small table, ideal for those prioritizing cost savings over sleeping arrangements, as these seats do not convert into beds. For sleeping, the Classic class is designed for five passengers, featuring fold-down beds reminiscent of Murphy beds, along with fresh bedding. Travelers can opt for open seating or women-only cabins. The premium Comfort class is designed for a maximum of three passengers, offering more spacious seating and plush bedding with duvets. It also includes a small cupboard with a mirror, sink, and cup holder. All classes share access to toilets located at the end of each car, with Budget and Classic also having additional basin-only washrooms. Each sleeping berth is equipped with an individual reading lamp, a power outlet, and a trash bin. Notably, Wi-Fi is not available on board, and luggage can be stored beneath seats or on overhead shelves. The train operates between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. without any mid-journey announcements, ensuring an uninterrupted night's rest as you travel towards your destination.
Onboard Dining Options
Given that most passengers board the train in the evening and disembark in the morning, the onboard dining service focuses primarily on snacks and breakfast. Many travelers opt to bring their own dinner or snacks from the train station before departure. For those seeking refreshments on the train, a selection of soft drinks, coffee, and wine is available, along with a limited range of snacks that can be ordered directly to your cabin. Breakfast, a simpler offering comprising yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, and bread, can be pre-ordered when purchasing your ticket or conveniently arranged upon boarding the train via a QR code found within the cabin. This approach ensures that passengers can fuel up adequately before arriving at their morning destination without the need for extensive dining facilities on a train primarily designed for overnight travel.
