An NGO, NCIB Headquarters, initially amplified the concern by sharing the clip and criticizing the railway administration for its perceived inaction. The railway authorities acknowledged the issue, stating that the matter was being forwarded to the concerned departments for appropriate action.

During questioning, the vendor seen in the viral clip reportedly offered an explanation for the green substance used on the cucumbers. According to Katihar RPF Inspector Vikram, the woman claimed that the colouring agent was similar to those used in sweets prepared for wedding ceremonies. This statement has prompted officials to undertake a thorough investigation to ascertain the exact composition of the colouring agent. The primary objective is to determine if its use on produce intended for consumption constitutes a violation of any food safety regulations or laws.
