is the creation of an Integrated Law Management System (ILMS), designed to accelerate the resolution of ongoing legal cases that often hinder project progress. For citizens, the introduction of a common dashboard for raising civic complaints aims to streamline communication and ensure quicker responses. This digital platform will work in conjunction with an existing WhatsApp chatbot, providing a more centralized and accessible way for residents to report issues. Furthermore, Mumbai will benefit from a 3D Geographic Information System (GIS) map, a powerful tool intended to aid in the conceptualization and meticulous planning of various urban development projects, ensuring a more informed and data-driven approach to city enhancement.
Fortifying Water Security
Ensuring a robust water supply for Mumbai is a paramount concern, with significant efforts being directed towards enhancing treatment and distribution capacities. A key initiative involves expediting the establishment of a desalination plant in Manori, slated to process 200 million liters of saline water daily into potable water. Plans are already in motion to potentially double this plant's capacity to 400 MLD, a crucial step in fulfilling election promises and significantly augmenting the city's daily water availability. Complementing this, the sewage operation department is tasked with accelerating the construction of seven advanced Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). These facilities will collectively recycle an impressive 2,464 MLD of water, further bolstering the city's overall water resources and promoting sustainable water management practices across Mumbai.
Accelerating Infrastructure Growth
The acceleration of critical infrastructure projects is a core focus, particularly in enhancing water conveyance capabilities. Authorities have been directed to expedite the construction of vital tunnels, prioritizing the completion of water conveyance tunnels that link Amar Mahal to Trombay and Kasheli to Mulund. These strategically important tunnels are engineered to significantly boost the volume of water that can be supplied to the city. By improving the infrastructure for water transportation, the project aims to minimize instances of water leakage from the existing pipeline network, thereby ensuring greater efficiency and reliability in water delivery to Mumbai's residents. This proactive approach to infrastructure development is vital for the city's sustained growth and improved living standards.
