Affiliation Reinstated After Revocation
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially re-established the affiliation for Uttarakhand Public School, located in Sector 56, Noida.
This decision comes after the board had previously withdrawn the school's affiliation several months prior due to alleged violations of established byelaws governing educational institutions. The reinstatement offers a much-needed reprieve for the approximately 1,100 students who were enrolled in the school, alleviating the uncertainty that had loomed over their academic futures. This development signifies a positive turn for the school community, allowing students to continue their educational journey without further disruption.
Reasons for Initial Withdrawal
The initial withdrawal of the school's affiliation, which extended to the senior secondary level, occurred on February 18. This drastic step followed a period of intense scrutiny, including court intervention and a formal inquiry into serious allegations. These complaints primarily revolved around issues of harassment and exploitation experienced by female teachers at the institution. The investigation substantiated some of these claims, leading the CBSE to revoke the school's recognition. This action created considerable apprehension for students preparing for the upcoming academic year, prompting protests from parents who were deeply concerned about the potential impact on their children's education.
School's Reconsideration Process
Following the initial revocation, there were extensive deliberations between the school's management and CBSE authorities. The school presented its case and made further submissions to the board, seeking a reconsideration of the February 18 order. After careful review and with the explicit approval of the CBSE chairman, the board decided to set aside its earlier directive. This reconsideration has resulted in the immediate restoration of the school's affiliation, allowing students to resume their studies at Uttarakhand Public School with a sense of security and stability.
Previous Interim Arrangements
Prior to the final decision on affiliation reinstatement, the CBSE had implemented interim measures to mitigate disruption for students. The board had initially permitted students in Classes 10 and 12 to complete their current academic session, which was scheduled until 2025–26, on the same campus. However, students in Classes 9 and 11 were instructed to transfer to nearby CBSE-affiliated schools by March 31. During this period, the school was also prohibited from admitting new students and promoting existing ones to these higher classes, highlighting the board's initial stance on the violations.
Conditions and Future Monitoring
While reinstating affiliation, the CBSE has issued a formal warning to the school management. The board has emphasized that any teachers facing service-related issues or experiencing adverse actions from the management can seek redressal through appropriate state authorities or other designated forums. The school has been sternly cautioned to strictly adhere to all provisions outlined in the affiliation byelaws and comply with future instructions from the CBSE. The board reserves the right to conduct periodic inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and has indicated that further action may be taken if any violations or complaints are received in the future.
Positive Reception from Parents
The decision to restore the school's affiliation has been met with considerable relief and appreciation from parents. They view this outcome as a critical step towards preventing any further disruption to their children's academic progression. The continuity in their studies is now ensured, and parents are confident that the school will operate under enhanced scrutiny from the CBSE. This move allows students to focus on their learning without the anxiety of relocation or academic uncertainty, fostering a more stable and supportive environment for their educational journey.
