Streamlining Civic Operations
Mumbai's municipal corporation is ushering in a new era of efficiency with the development of an Integrated Law Management System (ILMS). This digital
platform is designed to significantly accelerate the resolution of ongoing legal cases, a crucial step in improving administrative responsiveness. Furthermore, to enhance citizen engagement and service delivery, a consolidated dashboard is being established. Through this central hub, residents will be able to conveniently lodge civic complaints, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly. Complementing these initiatives, a comprehensive 3D Geographic Information System (GIS) map of Mumbai will be implemented. This advanced mapping tool will serve as a vital resource for conceptualizing, planning, and executing various urban development projects with greater precision and foresight, ultimately benefiting the city's infrastructure and its inhabitants.
Water Security Initiatives
Ensuring a consistent and ample water supply is a paramount concern for Mumbai, and the civic body is undertaking several ambitious projects to address this. A key focus is the proposed desalination plant at Manori, which, upon completion, will treat 200 million liters of saline water daily, making it potable. There are also plans to double the capacity of this plant to 400 MLD in the future, a significant step towards bolstering the city's daily water availability and fulfilling electoral promises. In parallel, the sewage operation department is accelerating the construction of seven state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). These facilities will collectively recycle an impressive 2,464 MLD of water daily, further contributing to Mumbai's overall water resources. Additionally, the administration is prioritizing the completion of critical water conveyance tunnel projects, specifically the ones linking Amar Mahal to Trombay and Kasheli to Mulund. These tunnels are vital for increasing water supply capacity and reducing potential water loss through pipeline leakages, guaranteeing more efficient delivery to Mumbaikars.
