Strategic Alliance Forms
AM Group, through its AM Intelligence Labs (AMI Labs), has forged a significant technology partnership with OXMIQ Labs, a company founded by former Intel executive
Raja Koduri. This collaboration is focused on architecting the foundational data center and system infrastructure for AMI Labs' ambitious goal of establishing 2 GW of AI compute capacity by the year 2030. This alliance is particularly notable as it brings together expertise in renewable energy, embodied by AM Group's promoters, Greenko Group, and cutting-edge GPU architecture and AI technology from OXMIQ Labs. The immediate objective is to design and implement a robust, renewable-powered AI compute platform within India, with a specific initial focus on a 1 GW compute hub planned for Uttar Pradesh, a project that was recently unveiled.
Building the Future Hub
The development of the Noida Compute Hub, a cornerstone of this initiative, is already underway, with the first phase of operations anticipated to go live by the close of 2027. AMI Labs envisions its offerings to be comprehensive, spanning from 'AI Pods-as-a-Service' to 'Tokens-as-a-Service,' catering to a wide spectrum of AI-driven needs. OXMIQ Labs will play a crucial role in providing expert guidance across various critical domains, including the overall system architecture, meticulous hardware planning, the design of robust infrastructure, and the strategic development of the supply chain. The overarching vision is to construct a seamlessly integrated, vertically unified system. This system will encompass the generation of renewable energy, the deployment of advanced data center facilities, the integration of specialized accelerators, sophisticated software solutions, and innovative AI service models, creating a holistic ecosystem for AI advancement.
Expertise for Global Scale
Anil Chalamalasetty, the chairman of AM Group, has emphasized the invaluable contribution of OXMIQ Labs, highlighting their profound expertise in hardware and systems, which he believes is among the deepest in the industry. This specialized knowledge is essential for AMI Labs to successfully build an infrastructure that can not only meet but also compete on a global stage. Raja Koduri, founder and CEO of OXMIQ Labs, has pointed out that AMI Labs is effectively tackling one of the most significant challenges hindering the widespread adoption of AI: the need for a reliable and abundant supply of carbon-free power. He underscored the critical importance of making informed architectural decisions early in the process, particularly concerning the design of racks, interconnects, storage solutions, and cooling systems. These fundamental choices are paramount to achieving the goal of delivering AI compute services at a reduced cost, making advanced AI more accessible and efficient.
