Special Train Services
To facilitate the large number of pilgrims expected for the Aluva Mahashivratri festival in 2026, Indian Railways has orchestrated special train services
designed to enhance accessibility. The Nilambur–Kottayam Express, operating under the train number 16325 on Sunday, will make supplementary stops at Mullurkara, Ollur, Nellayi, and Koratty, in addition to its standard schedule. This expansion of service ensures that more devotees can reach their destination with greater ease. Furthermore, the Shoranur–Thrissur Passenger, identified by its train number 56605, has been extended to operate all the way to Aluva specifically for the festival period. This particular service will depart from Thrissur late at night, at 11:13 pm, and is scheduled to arrive in Aluva by 12:45 am. Along its extended route to Aluva, it will make a series of intermediate stops including Ollur (11:22 pm), Puthukkad (11:32 pm), Nellayi (11:38 pm), Irinjalakuda (11:45 pm), Chalakudy (11:53 pm), Divine Nagar (11:57 pm), Koratty (12:02 am), Karukutty (12:07 am), Angamaly (12:15 am), and Chowwara (12:23 am), providing multiple points of access for travelers heading to the festival.

The Thrissur–Kannur Express, designated as train number 16609, is set to depart from Aluva early on Monday, February 16, at 05:15 am. This train will travel back towards Thrissur, making a series of stops at key locations for passengers disembarking or continuing their journey. These include Chowwara (at 05:21 am), Angamaly (05:28 am), Karukutty (05:33 am), Koratty (05:38 am), Divine Nagar (05:43 am), Chalakudy (05:47 am), Irinjalakuda (05:56 am), Nellayi (06:03 am), Puthukkad (06:09 am), and Ollur (06:18 am).
