New Service Unveiled
Ahead of the highly anticipated World Cup, travelers heading to Los Angeles will find their journey significantly smoother thanks to an expansion of the Pacific
Surfliner train service. This popular coastal route, managed by the Los Angeles–San Diego–San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Rail Corridor Agency, is introducing an additional daily roundtrip journey connecting San Diego and Los Angeles. This enhancement is designed to directly address the common challenges of heavy traffic and limited parking in the region, offering a practical and enjoyable alternative for both international visitors and local supporters eager to attend the soccer matches. The collaboration between the LA Tourism & Convention Board and the LOSSAN Agency underscores a commitment to facilitating easy access to the vibrant Southern California landscape and its world-class sporting events.
Enhanced Travel Experience
The Pacific Surfliner's expanded schedule means more opportunities for fans to experience the beauty of the California coast without the usual automotive hassles. With 13 daily roundtrips now operating between San Diego and Los Angeles, passengers can select departure times that best suit their needs, enjoying a comfortable and scenic ride that showcases charming coastal towns and breathtaking ocean vistas. Beyond the San Diego to Los Angeles corridor, the service extends further north to San Luis Obispo, with two full-length daily roundtrips covering the entire 351-mile stretch from San Diego to San Luis Obispo. This comprehensive network allows fans to easily reach Los Angeles Union Station, the central hub from which they can connect to the stadiums hosting the World Cup games. The train itself offers amenities such as complimentary WiFi, a cafe car for refreshments, and generously spaced seating, transforming the commute into a relaxing part of the overall travel adventure.
