The Pariksha Pe Charcha program has experienced remarkable expansion since its inception. In its initial run back in 2018, the initiative garnered just
22,000 participants. This figure has skyrocketed to a staggering 3.56 crore registrations in the eighth edition. The 2026 edition went pan-India, with participation nearing 6.76 crore. This growth signifies the increasing significance of the program, drawing the interest of students, parents, and educators nationwide. The Jan Andolan activities linked to the program also show considerable engagement, adding to the overall participation numbers and reflecting its growing influence across the country.
Pan-India Outreach
Pariksha Pe Charcha has broadened its reach, extending beyond the national capital to include various locations across India. In the 2026 edition, the Prime Minister interacted with students in Delhi, Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Dev Mogra (Gujarat), and Guwahati (Assam). This expansion underscores the program's objective of connecting with students throughout the country. This pan-India approach ensures that students from the east, west, north, south, and central regions have the chance to participate, fostering inclusivity and a shared experience. The move reflects the program's goal to create a unified platform for students nationwide.
Record-Breaking Participation
The popularity of Pariksha Pe Charcha is evident in the record-breaking participation numbers. The 2026 edition witnessed more than 4.5 crore registrations. Additionally, approximately 2.26 crore people took part in related activities, culminating in an overall participation of over 6.76 crore. The 2025 edition achieved a Guinness World Record, with students from more than 245 countries participating. Furthermore, teachers from 153 countries and parents from 149 countries also joined the program, showcasing its global appeal. These figures highlight the widespread interest and engagement among students, parents, and teachers, proving the program's international influence.
Format and Content
The program's format and content have evolved over the years, aiming to provide a comprehensive experience for participants. The 2025 edition featured seven dedicated episodes covering diverse themes, including sports and discipline, mental health, nutrition, technology and finance, creativity, and positivity. These sessions included discussions led by recognized figures from various fields. The 2026 edition expanded the format and reach, with interactions taking place across multiple locations. A trailer released on PM Modi’s official YouTube channel provided insights into the scale, format, and participation of the program, which is recorded and broadcast across platforms, making it accessible to a wider audience.
Participants and Venues
The interactions in Pariksha Pe Charcha engage a diverse group of participants. In 2025, the eighth edition was conducted in a new format at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi, bringing together 36 students from all states and Union Territories. The participants represented a range of institutions, including government schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, CBSE schools, and Navodaya Vidyalayas. PRERANA alumni, as well as winners of Kala Utsav and Veer Gatha, were also present. The nationwide scope included the Prime Minister meeting students in multiple cities, reflecting the program's commitment to reaching students across India.
