Expressway Unveiled
The much-anticipated Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor (DDEC), a vital six-lane, 210 km access-controlled expressway, commenced operations on April 14,
2026. Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 12,000 crore, this infrastructure marvel is poised to dramatically reduce travel duration between the national capital and the scenic city of Dehradun. Beyond just saving time, the DDEC is also designed to lower travel expenses, making trips to the Himalayan foothills more affordable for families and leisure travelers. The corridor incorporates a sophisticated closed tolling system featuring five major toll plazas, with rates varying based on vehicle classification. While official toll collection is yet to commence, preliminary rates for different vehicle types across select segments have been shared by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
