Ranveer's Rapid Bulk
Mustafa Ahmed, a trainer who also starred in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', elaborated on Ranveer Singh's significant physical transformation for the film.
Director Aditya Dhar sought a raw, imposing yet agile look for Ranveer, necessitating rapid weight gain within a limited preparation period. Ahmed highlighted that Ranveer went from approximately 75-76 kg to 87 kg by the first day of shooting, a substantial increase achieved through a calorie-dense diet alongside rigorous training. Despite the strict regimen, Ahmed playfully noted Ranveer's exceptional ability to locate and indulge in Nutella, emphasizing that the actor's passion for food persisted even during demanding workout phases. Ahmed described training Ranveer as a rewarding experience, noting his immense energy and enjoyment of weightlifting, with sessions often involving 'breaking iron' twice daily for four to five weeks to achieve a truly formidable on-screen presence.
Hrithik: The Foodie
Mustafa Ahmed shared that Hrithik Roshan often defies expectations regarding his dietary habits, despite his widely recognized disciplined lifestyle. Ahmed referred to many actors as 'foodies,' including Hrithik, and mentioned his surprising capacity for consumption. He recalled an instance where Hrithik consumed between 13 to 14 ghee-laden chapatis in a single meal, only ceasing due to the delay in serving the subsequent one. Ahmed characterized Hrithik as a 'true food enthusiast,' emphasizing that this considerable appetite is effectively managed and balanced by the actor's consistent and dedicated training regimen, allowing him to maintain his renowned physique.
Vicky's Metabolism
Mustafa Ahmed also discussed Vicky Kaushal, with whom he was slated to collaborate for 'Ashwatthama,' noting the actor's remarkable metabolic rate. Ahmed humorously remarked that Vicky possesses an almost unbelievable ability to consume and digest anything, likening it to 'eating a brick.' This extraordinary metabolism makes it exceptionally challenging to induce weight or muscle gain in Vicky, as his body efficiently processes all food intake. In contrast, Ahmed briefly touched upon Yami Gautam's preferences, mentioning her inclination towards simpler food choices, particularly enjoying tea and home-cooked meals, a much more straightforward dietary profile compared to her male counterparts.
Post-Shoot Indulgences
Beyond the demands of film sets and rigorous training, Ranveer Singh's enjoyment of food has frequently captured attention. Following the success of 'Dhurandhar 2,' the actor was observed dining at a popular Mumbai seafood establishment with Deepika Padukone. This outing was understated, with the couple briefly interacting with the restaurant staff, who playfully dubbed themselves the 'Dhurandhar of seafood' online. Shortly thereafter, the pair were also seen enjoying a more casual experience with a dosa date at a Bandra cafe renowned for its buttery, Bengaluru-style benne dosas. Photographs shared by the cafe depicted a relaxed couple, suggesting these moments were more about personal enjoyment of cuisine rather than elaborate celebrations, reinforcing Ahmed's observation that for stars like Ranveer, indulgent eating and peak fitness can coexist harmoniously, supported by dedication and meticulous planning.
