This popular route conveniently starts in Middletown and meanders through several charming towns, including West Chester, Fairfield, Hamilton, Trenton, Monroe, and Oxford. Its strategic positioning just off Interstate 75, conveniently situated between the major cities of Cincinnati and Dayton, significantly contributes to its success. Beyond its accessibility, the trail's allure lies in its diverse and delicious offerings, showcasing an array of long-standing, locally cherished donut shops that have become regional favorites.

The Butler County Donut Trail now proudly features 14 distinct destinations, each offering its own unique charm and delectable treats. Among these celebrated stops is a family-owned establishment in West Chester, where recipes passed down through generations for over 50 years continue to delight visitors. Another must-visit is a renowned shop in Middletown, celebrated across the region for its vast selection of exceptionally fluffy glazed donuts. In Oxford, you'll find a local icon celebrated for its perfectly kettle-fried cake donuts and a fiercely loyal customer base. To enhance the visitor experience, a dedicated Donut Trail concierge is available to assist with trip planning and customization. You can reach them via phone during weekday business hours. Additionally, an official passport system encourages participants to collect stamps from each shop they patronize. Completing 12 out of the 14 stops earns you a complimentary T-shirt, redeemable at the Travel Butler County office or available by mail. The passport can be downloaded, printed, or acquired from the Travel Butler County office or any participating donut shop.

This popular trail has attracted over 42,000 visitors from every state in the U.S. and an impressive 25 countries, cementing its status as a significant Midwestern attraction. Geographically, the trail is conveniently located approximately 20 minutes north of Cincinnati and is easily accessible via Interstates 75 and 275. For travelers flying in, it's roughly a 30-minute drive from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and about 45 minutes from Dayton International Airport (DAY), making it an accessible destination for both local and distant explorers.
