Effortless Price Alerts
Google has introduced a groundbreaking feature designed to empower travelers in their quest for budget-friendly accommodations. This new tool allows users
to meticulously track price fluctuations for specific hotels, mirroring the functionality of popular flight alert systems. Travelers can now opt to receive email notifications whenever the cost of their chosen hotel drops significantly. This enhancement moves beyond previous city-wide price trend tracking, offering a more granular, property-specific approach. As explained by a Google spokesperson, this makes it considerably simpler for individuals with a particular hotel in mind to capitalize on price reductions, thereby securing advantageous deals for upcoming vacations, especially during peak travel seasons.
Setting Up Your Tracker
To activate this money-saving feature, travelers need to be logged into their Google account. The process begins with a simple search for the desired hotel by its name. Once the hotel's page is displayed, users will find a new price tracking toggle. This toggle can be accessed on a desktop browser or conveniently located within the 'prices' tab when using a mobile browser. Upon activation, travelers will automatically receive email alerts whenever the room rates experience a notable decrease during their specified travel dates. The functionality is also directly accessible through Google Hotels, where the price tracking option is clearly visible on either the 'overview' or 'prices' tabs, ensuring a seamless user experience for securing the best possible rates.
Global Availability & More
This highly anticipated hotel price tracking service is not limited to a specific region; it boasts global availability, ensuring that travelers worldwide can benefit from it. Furthermore, the feature is accessible in two widely spoken languages: English and Spanish, broadening its reach and usability. In addition to the hotel price tracking capabilities, Google offers a suite of other cost-saving tools specifically for flight bookings. These include an 'explore' function to discover economical city pairings on a map, a date grid and price graph for visualizing rate changes, real-time insights to gauge fare competitiveness, and a 'cheapest' tab highlighting the absolute lowest flight prices. Travelers can also set up alerts for their desired flights, similar to the hotel feature.
