A Bold New Arrival
Roswyn marks a significant entry into India for the Ennismore portfolio, aiming to infuse Mumbai with the brand's signature vibrant and youthful spirit,
already celebrated in its global establishments like 25 Hours and The Hoxton. This all-suite haven presents a maximalist aesthetic, a striking contrast to the often understated decor prevalent in contemporary hotels. It’s strategically situated in the same complex as the Fairmont Mumbai, yet boasts its own distinct entrance, offering proximity to the Mumbai airport. While sharing access to the Fairmont's pool and wellness facilities, Roswyn cultivates an entirely separate identity. Parisian designer Daphné Desjeux has infused the space with an avant-garde sensibility, characterized by a rich tapestry of prints, mirrored hallways bathed in deep hues of burgundy and teal, striking furniture paired with dramatic light fixtures, and an olfactory journey with woody, tobacco-infused scents that evolve with each floor. The hotel’s eclectic art program, thoughtfully curated by Venu Juneja, further enhances its unique character. Complementing the visual and sensory experience, the staff are approachable and engaging, dressed casually in jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers, ready to offer insights and recommendations without being intrusive.
Luxurious Apartment Suites
The hotel features 109 suites, meticulously designed to emulate sophisticated apartments, offering layouts with one or two bedrooms and distinct areas for both work and relaxation. These spacious accommodations range from 80 to 190 square meters. The larger two-bedroom suites are equipped with both king-sized and twin beds, complemented by en-suite bathrooms furnished with bathtubs and premium Le Labo bath products, along with the convenience of handheld steam irons. The living spaces are appointed with ample comfortable seating, vibrant color schemes, and beautifully embroidered furnishings. Each suite includes a well-equipped kitchenette, featuring double-door refrigerators, induction cooktops, ovens, a full set of crockery, and convenient Nespresso machines and toasters. Departing from conventional hotel offerings, the in-room snacks include healthier selections such as dark chocolate infused with quinoa and baked millet chips. A charming local touch is provided by a signature kokum-and-lime cocktail apparatus, complete with instructions, for guests to assemble and enjoy at their leisure at the island bar. Furthermore, dedicated office spaces are designed for productive work and meetings, equipped with ergonomic chairs, interactive screens for laptop mirroring, and adjustable white lighting to create an optimal professional ambiance.
Distinctive Dining Experiences
Roswyn offers two distinct culinary destinations. First is Fi'lia, an Italian restaurant that has garnered accolades for its Dubai counterpart. In Mumbai, this space is a lively hub, adorned in sage and salmon pink, where patrons can savor Amalfi spritz and Campari amidst ceiling motifs inspired by citrus fruits. Under the guidance of Chef Matteo Arvonio, the kitchen prepares robust, homestyle Italian fare, including dishes like Campanelle al pesto and authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas crafted in two large pizza ovens. A particular highlight is the pasta featuring a prawn bisque, a dish the chef shared is reminiscent of his hometown in Piedmont. The dining experience concludes with an elaborate dessert trolley, laden with treats such as baba au rhum, lemon cake, and cannoli. The family-style served affogato and tiramisu are highly recommended. Adjacent to this vibrant setting is Black Lacquer, a bar that presents a complete atmospheric shift. This establishment is inspired by Japan's vinyl bars, offering a more spacious environment with fewer constraints. The beverage menu features sake, shochu, and cocktails incorporating Japanese flavors like yuzu, umeshu, and cherry liqueur. Complementing the drinks are Japanese-inspired bar bites, including yakitori, edamame, and tempura. The bar is outfitted with a turntable and displays of vinyl covers, with plans to host vinyl DJs. The playlist is eclectic, seamlessly transitioning between artists and genres, enhancing the sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere.
Amenities and Well-being
The hotel provides a versatile space known as The Third Room, functioning as a business center with a modern twist. Occupying an entire floor, it comprises meeting rooms, individual workspaces, and lounge areas. This area also features a bar and is set to introduce a calendar of coffee and cultural programming. Access is granted to all hotel residents, who may invite guests, with limited access for non-guests by invitation only. For wellness and rejuvenation, guests can utilize the spa facilities, which are shared with the adjacent Fairmont hotel. This spa offers a range of advanced longevity treatments at the Blu Xone, including cryotherapy, red light therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, alongside a comprehensive selection of massages, Ayurvedic treatments, and various wellness and beauty rituals. Due to its popularity, it is advisable to book appointments in advance and arrive promptly for scheduled treatments. Additionally, a thoughtful touch for guests is the discovery of discreet amenities within their suites. Exploring the various drawers and wardrobes can reveal hidden treasures such as sheet masks, protein bars, and silk robes and eye masks, intended to enhance comfort and relaxation during their stay.
