Farrugia, associated with Malta's Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), spearheaded the initiative in collaboration with Italy's Consorzi di Pasticcerie Bergamo-Brescia. The development involved a diverse group of talents, including experienced Italian and Maltese chocolatiers, alongside dedicated students from various educational institutions and training centers. For months, these artisans worked diligently in the Minetti 1980 labs, using premium Belcolade Italia chocolate, supplied by Puratos Italia, to bring the carriages to life. The complex logistics of transporting and assembling the enormous structure were expertly managed by Brivio & Viganò. This wasn't Farrugia's maiden voyage into record-breaking territory; he had previously achieved acclaim with a 34.05-meter chocolate train in 2012 and another significant build in Brescia in December 2025.
