Extended Holi Travel Options
Central Railway is enhancing its service by introducing a significant number of special trains originating from Pune to cater to the anticipated surge
in passenger traffic during the Holi festivities. A total of 186 special services will be deployed across the network, with a dedicated allocation for routes emanating from Pune. These additional trains are scheduled to operate between February 21st and March 10th, 2026, providing crucial connectivity to popular destinations such as Danapur, Gorakhpur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Ghazipur, and Nagpur. Passengers looking to utilize these special services can initiate their bookings starting February 18th. The booking process is streamlined, allowing reservations through the established computerised reservation centres, the official IRCTC website, and the RailOne mobile application. For those preferring unreserved travel, tickets can be procured through the UTS system at standard fares.
Pune-Danapur Daily Service
For a consistent daily connection between Pune and Danapur, Train No. 01449 is set to depart Pune daily at 3:30 pm, commencing its service from February 21st through March 8th. This train is slated to reach Danapur by 2:45 am on the third day of its journey. The reciprocal service, Train No. 01450, will depart from Danapur daily at 5:00 am, running from February 23rd to March 10th, and is expected to arrive back in Pune by 6:15 pm the following day. Along this route, passengers can board or alight at key stations including Daund, Ahilyanagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, and Ara. These services will initially operate as 'Special Trains' from February 21st to March 2nd, encompassing 16 services, and then transition to 'Holi Specials' from March 1st to March 10th, also comprising 16 services.
Pune-Danapur Bi-Weekly
An additional option for travel between Pune and Danapur is the bi-weekly special service, designated as Train No. 01481. This train will depart from Pune every Monday and Friday at 7:55 pm, operating from February 23rd to March 6th. The arrival at Danapur is scheduled for 8:00 am on the third day. The return journey, Train No. 01482, will leave Danapur every Wednesday and Sunday at 10:00 am, with its operational period spanning from February 25th to March 8th, arriving back in Pune by 6:15 pm the next day. These services are structured to run as 'Special Trains' from February 23rd to March 1st, followed by 'Holi Specials' from March 2nd to March 8th.
Pune-Gorakhpur Daily Connect
For those heading to Gorakhpur, a daily special train, Train No. 01415, will depart from Pune at 6:50 am. This service will be available from February 21st to March 8th, reaching Gorakhpur by 4:00 pm the subsequent day. The return train, No. 01416, departs Gorakhpur daily at 5:30 pm from February 22nd to March 9th, arriving at Pune at 3:15 am on the third day. Key stops on this route include Daund Chord Cabin, Ahilyanagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Bina, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gonda, and Basti. A weekly special train connects Pune to Hazrat Nizamuddin, identified as Train No. 01491. This service departs Pune every Friday at 5:30 pm, specifically on February 27th and March 6th, reaching Hazrat Nizamuddin at 8:00 pm the next day. The return journey, Train No. 01492, leaves Hazrat Nizamuddin every Saturday at 9:25 pm, on February 28th and March 7th, arriving in Pune by 11:55 pm the following day. Significant halts along this route encompass Lonavala, Kalyan, Bhiwandi Road, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, and Mathura Junction. Central Railway is offering two distinct weekly special train services from Pune to Nagpur. The first, Train No. 01469, departs Pune every Tuesday at 3:50 pm, operating on February 24th and March 3rd, and arrives in Nagpur at 6:30 am the subsequent day. Its return service, Train No. 01470, departs Nagpur every Wednesday at 8:00 am, on February 25th and March 4th, reaching Pune by 11:30 pm on the same day. The second weekly service, Train No. 01457, leaves Pune every Wednesday at 3:50 pm, on February 25th and March 4th, arriving in Nagpur at 6:30 am the next morning. The corresponding return train, No. 01458, departs Nagpur every Thursday at 8:00 am, on February 26th and March 5th, arriving back in Pune by 11:30 pm the same day.
