A Royal Journey's Details
Launched in 1982 by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways, the Palace on Wheels provides a majestic eight-day, seven-night itinerary through Rajasthan and Agra, departing from New Delhi. This heritage luxury train is celebrated for its lavish interiors, personal butler service, and gourmet dining experiences. Operating from September through April, it journeys through iconic cities like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, as well as wildlife destinations such as Ranthambore National Park and the Bharatpur bird sanctuary. Each of its lavishly appointed cabins, named after former Rajput kingdoms, is equipped with world-class amenities including Wi-Fi, satellite television, and en-suite premium washrooms attended by personal staff. The culinary offerings are equally impressive, with two acclaimed restaurants serving a diverse range of Indian and international cuisines, complemented by a well-stocked bar, a lounge, and an Ayurvedic spa, ensuring every aspect of the trip is steeped in luxury.
