Among these is AlphaGenome, an AI designed to help scientists unravel the complex effects of DNA mutations on gene functionality. Furthermore, AlphaFold, already deployed in India, has established the country as the fourth-largest global user base, with over 1.8 lakh researchers leveraging its capabilities for protein structure prediction. The newly launched Google.org Impact Challenge, a $30 million fund, specifically targets supporting scientists and social enterprises in harnessing AI for groundbreaking scientific discoveries. Data from Google indicates that India leads globally in daily usage of Gemini among students, with learning being the primary driver for this engagement. At City Montessori School in Lucknow, an AI-assisted guided learning approach is currently being piloted in middle school mathematics classes. Initial insights from the Fab AI project suggest a positive trend: students are utilizing AI to deepen their understanding and enhance their learning processes, rather than employing it as a means to bypass challenges. This observation is particularly encouraging for educators concerned about potential over-reliance on technology. Complementing this, Google is actively partnering with Atal Tinkering Labs, a nationwide network reaching more than 10,000 schools.
