The United Kingdom has fully transitioned to an electronic visa system, phasing out physical visa stickers in passports as of February 25, 2026. Most successful
applicants will now receive their visa electronically via the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) platform, rather than a vignette in their passport. This digital status is directly linked to the traveler's passport, enabling real-time verification by airlines and border control. While biometrics submission will still require a visit to a visa center, passports are typically returned immediately post-appointment. Japan's New Rules

The option for walk-in applications has been discontinued. This measure is implemented to better manage the increasing volume of applications and to ensure a smoother processing experience at VFS Global centers.
