Hydration & Stress
A recent study highlighted a direct link between how much water a person drinks and their stress levels. Those consuming less than 1.5 litres of water daily
experienced higher stress levels. Staying adequately hydrated can be an effective way to manage daily pressures, similar to how your chai relaxes you.
Checking Hydration Levels
Wondering if you're drinking enough? Check the colour of your urine – pale yellow means you're well-hydrated, while dark yellow indicates a need for more fluids. Other signs include dry mouth, fatigue, and a general feeling of 'blah'. Just like when you've skipped your morning lassi!
Daily Water Needs
While individual needs vary, aim to drink enough water to keep your urine a light colour. The study highlights the minimum being around 1.5 litres. Consider climate, activity levels, and your body's signals, just like you consider the weather before deciding what to wear.
Boost Fluid Intake
Don't enjoy plain water? No problem! Infuse water with fruits, like cucumber or lemon, or enjoy other fluids like coconut water, buttermilk (chaas), and fresh fruit juices. Keep a water bottle handy. Think of it like always having your favourite snack nearby!
