Passenger's Food Crisis
A traveler named Ayushi Singh recently shared a distressing account of her journey aboard the Vande Bharat Express, specifically on train number 22500,
coach E1, on March 27th. She reported experiencing a severe allergic reaction subsequent to consuming the onboard meal. Adding to the concern, her two-year-old son also became unwell, suffering from diarrhea after eating the same food. Singh described the situation as critical and emphasized the need for immediate action. To substantiate her claims, she provided photographic evidence and a medical prescription from Maa Ram Pyaari Superspeciality Hospital in Ranchi, detailing the severity of the allergy attributed to the train's food.
Quality and Staff Concerns
Beyond the immediate health issue, Ayushi Singh expressed significant disappointment with the overall food quality and the staff's handling of her complaint. She explicitly stated on social media, "Worst quality food provided on Vande Bharat Express and insensitive attitude of staff towards complaints." Singh further elaborated that the water served on the train had an unusual taste, which raised further questions in her mind about the prevailing hygiene standards on the premium service. Her experience highlighted a broader concern among travelers regarding the consistency of food safety and service excellence on high-speed trains.
IRCTC's Official Statement
In response to the viral social media post, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) conducted an investigation into the matter. Their official statement indicated that the lunch served on Train No. 22500 (BSB-DGHR Vande Bharat Express), specifically in Coach E1 on March 27th, was inspected and found to be satisfactory. The IRCTC further clarified that no other complaints regarding the quality, hygiene, or safety of the food were received from any other passengers on that particular day. This official assessment contrasts with the passenger's personal account, leaving the situation with differing perspectives.
