Stand-up comedian Rahul Dua and his wife Nidhi Tyagi have embarked on a new health endeavor: a 24-hour water fast, undertaken twice each month, beginning
in 2026. Nidhi shared on Instagram that their journey has been challenging, with only two successful attempts so far. She humorously noted the difficulty, even admitting that baby food seemed appealing during the fast. The couple's motivation stems from a desire to detoxify their bodies from what they describe as "painfully self-sabotaging eating habits." Nidhi explained that fasting provides a much-needed respite for the digestive system and aims to trigger a cellular renewal process known as autophagy. During these fasting periods, participants are permitted to consume only plain water, black coffee, green tea, black tea, herbal tea, or electrolytes if absolutely necessary to maintain bodily functions.
