Passenger Charges Unveiled
Passengers flying through Noida International Airport will face new fees starting June 15, 2026, which will remain in place until March 31, 2027, marking
the airport's inaugural tariff year. The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has finalized the User Development Fee (UDF) structure. For domestic travelers departing the airport, a charge of ₹490 will be levied. Those undertaking international departures will be subject to a higher fee of ₹980. On the arrival side, domestic passengers will be charged ₹210, while international arrivals will incur a fee of ₹420. These charges are part of the initial tariff period designed to support the airport's operational setup and growth within the Delhi-NCR region, aiming to establish it as a significant aviation hub.
Airline Landing Costs
Airlines operating at Noida International Airport will also see new charges implemented from June 15, 2026, under the AERA's approved tariff order. Landing fees are structured based on flight type and aircraft weight. For domestic operations, airlines will pay ₹725 per metric tonne. International flights will incur a higher rate of ₹1,088 per metric tonne. To illustrate, a common narrowbody aircraft like a Boeing 737 or Airbus A320, weighing approximately 80 metric tonnes, would be charged around ₹58,000 for a domestic landing (80 MT x ₹725). For the same aircraft on an international route, the landing charge would be approximately ₹87,040 (80 MT x ₹1,088). Larger widebody aircraft, such as the Boeing 787, weighing about 250 metric tonnes, will face domestic landing charges of roughly ₹1,81,250 (250 MT x ₹725). International landings for these larger planes will amount to approximately ₹2,72,000 (250 MT x ₹1,088). These rates are crucial for the financial viability of the new airport.
Parking Fee Structure
Beyond landing charges, airlines will also be responsible for parking fees at Noida International Airport, with rates approved by AERA. After an initial free parking period, airlines will be charged ₹25 per hour per metric tonne for aircraft parking. This rate will double to ₹50 per hour per metric tonne for any duration exceeding four hours. For a narrowbody aircraft weighing 80 metric tonnes, this translates to an hourly parking cost of ₹2,000 after the complimentary period (80 MT x ₹25). If the aircraft remains parked for over four hours, the hourly rate will escalate to ₹4,000. For a heavier widebody aircraft, such as a Boeing 787 weighing 250 metric tonnes, the hourly parking charge after the free period will be ₹6,250 (250 MT x ₹25), and this will increase to ₹12,500 per hour beyond the initial four-hour window. This tiered approach aims to encourage efficient turnaround times for aircraft.
Tariff Outlook and Hub Ambitions
The approved tariff structure at Noida International Airport is initially set to remain in effect until March 2027. However, plans are in place for annual adjustments to these charges through to 2031. This progressive approach is designed to accommodate the airport's expansion and development as it aims to become a major aviation hub in the strategically important Delhi-NCR region. By establishing clear financial parameters early on, the airport authorities are laying the groundwork for sustainable operations and attracting a diverse range of airlines and air traffic, ultimately contributing to the economic landscape of the area.
