operations. Scheduled to begin on June 15, 2026, this landmark event marks the gateway's readiness to serve passengers and facilitate cargo movement. The announcement follows a series of crucial advancements, including the airport's inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the vital approval of its Aerodrome Security Programme by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. These steps ensure that all necessary security protocols and systems are robustly in place, paving the way for a seamless and secure operational launch. This development is poised to significantly alleviate air traffic congestion in the region and offer enhanced travel options.
Airline Operations Begin
The inaugural flight from Noida International Airport will be operated by IndiGo, signaling the commencement of scheduled passenger services. Following IndiGo's lead, other major carriers such as Akasa Air and Air India Express are expected to join the operational roster shortly thereafter. While specific details regarding routes, flight schedules, and the full spectrum of passenger services are yet to be officially disclosed, the anticipation is palpable. The airport, designated with IATA code DXN, is a greenfield project meticulously developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, in collaboration with both the Uttar Pradesh and Union governments.
