Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the imminent launch of a Vande Bharat Express train service that will traverse the scenic route connecting
Bengaluru and Mangaluru, with an extension to Madgaon in Goa. This significant addition to India's rail infrastructure was revealed during the minister's recent visit to Bengaluru, coinciding with the inauguration of a high-speed train manufacturing facility at BEML. The minister also shared progress on India's own bullet train development, indicating that the first prototype is expected next year and large-scale production by late 2027, underscoring the nation's commitment to advanced rail technology and self-reliance in high-speed rail manufacturing. This new Vande Bharat service is poised to revolutionize travel along the Western Ghats and the Konkan coast, offering a much-needed upgrade for passengers.

The upcoming Vande Bharat Express on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru–Madgaon route is set to offer an incredibly scenic journey, navigating through the Western Ghats and along the Konkan coast.
