The journey is made possible by the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), one of the most ambitious and challenging railway projects undertaken in India. For decades, connecting the Kashmir Valley to the rest of the country via an all-weather

The 272-kilometre line is a testament to human ingenuity, featuring an astonishing 36 tunnels and 943 bridges that navigate the rugged landscape. For passengers, this means the train often disappears into a mountain before emerging to a completely new, breathtaking panorama. Much of the route, particularly the recently completed sections, runs through these tunnels and over soaring bridges, creating a unique and immersive travel experience.
Gliding Over the World's Highest Railway Bridge
The undisputed highlight of the trip is crossing the Chenab Rail Bridge. Soaring 359 metres above the riverbed, it holds the title of the world's highest railway bridge—standing taller than the Eiffel Tower.
