The age of electric luxury is getting a new heavyweight contender. Bentley has officially pulled back the curtain on its first-ever all-electric vehicle, christened the Torcal. Named after the dramatic rock formations in Andalusia, Spain, the name also
hints at the Latin word for 'twist', a nod to torque—something this EV will have in abundance. Billed as a 'luxury urban SUV', the Torcal represents a new chapter for the Crewe-based automaker, venturing beyond its grand tourers and the larger Bentayga SUV. Set for a full reveal in September 2026 with customer deliveries beginning in 2027, the Torcal is Bentley's answer to a rapidly changing automotive landscape. It's a bold step, aiming to prove that electrification doesn't mean a dilution of the brand's core values of performance, craftsmanship, and a commanding presence.
The Sound of Luxury, Reimagined

This foundation allows for an 800-volt electrical system, enabling incredibly fast charging—Bentley has targeted adding over 160 kilometres of range in just over six minutes. Performance figures are expected to be staggering, with top-tier models rumoured to produce outputs that could place the Torcal among the most powerful SUVs in the world, electric or otherwise. The range is anticipated to be well over 500 kilometres on a single charge, making it as capable on long highway journeys as it is navigating city streets.

For the burgeoning Indian luxury market, the Torcal is a significant arrival. It merges two of the biggest trends in the high-end automotive space: the undeniable appeal of SUVs and the accelerating shift towards electric mobility.
