What is the Amrit Bharat Express?
Before diving into the new routes, it's worth understanding what makes the Amrit Bharat Express different. These trains are designed to offer an upgraded travel experience for passengers in non-AC sleeper and general coaches at an affordable price. They
are a step up from conventional mail and express trains, featuring modern LHB coaches known for their safety and comfort. Key to their design is the 'push-pull' technology, where locomotives are placed at both ends of the train. This allows for faster acceleration and deceleration, reducing overall journey time. Inside, passengers can expect improved seating and berths, mobile charging points, better lighting, and modern bio-toilets. Fully sealed gangways between coaches reduce noise and ensure a smoother, jerk-free ride, making them a significant upgrade for budget-conscious, long-distance travellers.
