The policy was announced in late August 2026, but an official start date and the final, specific entry procedures are still pending confirmation from government channels. Your Essential Document Checklist
Visa-free does not mean document-free. As with any international travel, you will need to have your papers in order. Immigration officials will still expect you to present a valid Indian passport, and it's a best practice to ensure it has at least six months of validity from your date of entry. You should also be prepared to show proof of a confirmed return or onward flight ticket and details of your accommodation, such as hotel bookings.
