While Maharashtra leads with 15.5% of the nation's Claude usage, followed by Tamil Nadu (13.2%) and Karnataka (12.7%), Delhi's 10.5% share places it firmly in the top tier of AI adoption. These four states combined are responsible for over half of all Claude conversations in the country, painting a clear picture of an AI boom driven by established IT workforces.

The area hosts an estimated 22% of all startups in India and has become a magnet for talent from premier educational institutions like IIT Delhi and Delhi Technological University (DTU). This heavy focus on technical work shows that Indian professionals are not just experimenting with AI; they are integrating it deeply into their daily workflows to solve complex problems and boost productivity. Education is the second-biggest use case, with students and researchers using the platform for homework, studying, and learning.

The impact of this adoption is profound. On average, Indian users are applying AI to tasks that would normally take around 3.8 hours to complete manually. With Claude, they are finishing them in just under 15 minutes—a 15-fold increase in productivity, which is even higher than the global average of a 12x speedup. This suggests that users in India are tackling particularly complex and time-consuming problems with AI, pushing the boundaries of what the technology can do. This efficiency gain is not just saving time; it's enabling businesses and individuals to innovate faster, from startups building new products to large enterprises like Air India and Cognizant modernising their systems.
