A Bold Statement on Wheels
Forget a simple new paint job. Bentley's bespoke Mulliner division has created what it calls the 'Design Theme by Mulliner', an audacious styling package available exclusively for the Supersports. The most dramatic feature is a paint fade that transitions
not from front to back, but from one side of the car to the other. This is a first for Bentley, designed to emphasize the driver-focused nature of the car. A bold highlight color defines the driver's side, blending seamlessly across the bonnet and roof into a darker, complementary tone on the passenger side. It’s a visual trick that immediately sets the car apart, making it clear this is a machine built around the person in the command seat. The public debut for this striking look is set for the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Three Distinct Personalities
To launch the new theme, Mulliner has curated three distinct specifications, each with its own character. The 'Dragon' theme features a fiery Dragon Red fading into a deep Black Crystal, paired with a Hotspur and Beluga interior for a classic, aggressive look. The 'Electric' theme offers a more modern feel, with a vibrant Electric Blue that blends into Dark Sapphire, complemented by Klein and Imperial Blue inside the cabin. For a more contemporary and subtle alternative, the 'Brodgar' theme presents a sophisticated Pale Brodgar fading to a darker Brodgar on the exterior, matched with a Camel and Beluga interior. Each theme ensures that the exterior's dramatic statement is continued inside the car, creating a truly cohesive design.
An Interior Focused on the Drive
The custom treatment extends deeply into the two-seat cabin, reinforcing the car's performance-oriented mission. The two-tone interior layout directly mirrors the exterior's asymmetric design, with the brighter color enveloping the driver's area. This driver-focused aesthetic is amplified by details like a gear selector finished in the highlight color and contrast stitching that flows across the dashboard and headrests. The cabin features Bentley's Full Leather Specification but with a unique perforation pattern created specifically for the Supersports. These curated details ensure the interior feels just as special and purposeful as the head-turning exterior paintwork.
The Mulliner Magic
This level of personalization is the hallmark of Bentley's Mulliner division, the automaker's in-house bespoke department. Mulliner has become a cornerstone of the Bentley brand, responsible for everything from unique color combinations to fully coachbuilt vehicles for discerning clients. The demand for such individuality is growing, with Bentley stating that over 70 percent of its customers now order some form of Mulliner content. The 'Design Theme' is part of a wider expansion of Mulliner's offerings for 2026, which includes new two-tone 'Ombré' paint finishes that take two technicians 56 hours to apply. This new side-to-side fade on the Supersports showcases Mulliner's continued effort to push the boundaries of automotive craftsmanship.
Performance to Match the Pose
While the new look is the main event, it's applied to one of Bentley's most formidable performance cars. The Supersports is a member of the Continental GT family, but it trades some of that model's grand touring comfort for a sharper, more track-focused experience. The car is powered by a potent 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 657 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds. At Goodwood, Bentley will demonstrate the car's capabilities on the famous hillclimb, ensuring that spectators see it as more than just a static piece of art. It's a powerful reminder that in the world of Bentley, extreme performance and bespoke luxury go hand in hand.
