A Nod to Heritage in Tasman Blue
The most striking feature of the new Discovery Landmark Edition is its exclusive Tasman Blue metallic paint. This isn't just a random new colour; Land Rover says it's a modern tribute to the original Clearwater Blue from the first-generation Discovery launched
in 1989. This heritage-inspired colour is designed to appeal to enthusiasts and those who appreciate the brand's long history. The Landmark Edition slots in as a new mid-level variant, positioned between the entry-level S and the top-spec Tempest editions, offering a unique blend of style and features. While it is officially listed on the Jaguar Land Rover India website, the company has not yet announced the official price for the Indian market.
Exclusive Exterior Styling
Beyond the special paint, the Landmark Edition distinguishes itself with several key exterior enhancements. The grille, front fender vents, and the 'Discovery' branding on the bonnet and tailgate are all finished in a sophisticated Graphite Atlas grey. Adding to the rugged yet premium look, the front and rear skid plates are painted in Carpathian Grey. The vehicle rides on 21-inch alloy wheels finished in a new Dark Agate Grey, a feature that is now standard across the entire Discovery lineup. Another subtle but distinctive touch is the inclusion of a unique mountain logo graphic on the B-pillar, scuff plates, and even projected by the puddle lamps.
A Premium Cabin Experience
The interior of the Landmark Edition also receives special treatment to set it apart. The cabin features brushed aluminium accents that carry specific 'Landmark' branding. A luxurious faux suede, which Land Rover calls 'Tech Velour', adorns the dashboard and door pads, adding a tactile and upscale feel to the interior environment. For added comfort and a sense of spaciousness, a panoramic sunroof is included as part of the Landmark package. In a nod to ultimate convenience, especially for long journeys in Indian conditions, the centre console is equipped with a refrigerator. These thoughtful additions elevate the cabin from merely functional to genuinely luxurious.
Proven Powertrain and Capability
Under the bonnet, the Discovery Landmark Edition will be powered by the same engine offered across the rest of the Indian Discovery range. This is the potent 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged mild-hybrid diesel engine. It produces a formidable 350hp and 700Nm of peak torque, ensuring effortless performance both on and off the road. This power is managed by an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Staying true to its roots, the Discovery maintains its legendary off-road prowess with Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 system, a remarkable 900mm water-wading capacity, and a towing capacity of up to 3,500kg.
Market Positioning and What's Next
The introduction of the Landmark Edition is part of a broader refresh for the Discovery lineup in India. For 2026, Land Rover has streamlined its offerings, with the new Gemini and Tempest editions replacing the previous S and Metropolitan trims. The Landmark Edition carves out a new space in the middle of this revised portfolio. While the price is yet to be announced, it is expected to be positioned competitively against other full-size luxury SUVs like the Audi Q7, BMW X7, and Volvo XC90. As an additional update across the entire range, all Discovery models will now come equipped with a driver attention monitoring system as standard, enhancing the vehicle's safety credentials.
