The New King of the Urus Lineup
Lamborghini has officially pulled the covers off the Urus SE Performante, a new range-topping version of its wildly popular super SUV. If the standard Urus SE represented Lamborghini’s step into the world of plug-in hybrids, the Performante is a thunderous
statement that electrification and extreme performance can go hand-in-hand. Unveiled in early July 2026, this model takes the existing hybrid platform and turns every dial to its maximum setting, creating what is now the most powerful and track-focused Urus to date. It’s designed for the customer who looks at a 789-horsepower SUV and thinks, “That’s a good start.”
More Power from a Dual Heart
At the core of the Urus SE Performante is a familiar twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, but it works in concert with a powerful electric motor. While the standard SE was already a force of nature, Lamborghini engineers have tweaked the system to unleash even more power. The combined output now officially tops the 800-horsepower mark, landing at around 801 hp (or 812 CV in Lamborghini’s terms) with a staggering 738 lb-ft of torque. This slight but significant bump in power is less about chasing numbers and more about cementing its position at the pinnacle of the SUV world. This allows the Performante to shave a tenth of a second off the 0-to-62 mph sprint, clocking in at a blistering 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 194 mph (312 km/h). The hybrid system also allows for over 37 miles (60 km) of all-electric driving for quieter city journeys.
An Exercise in Carbon Fiber and Aero
True to the Performante name, this isn’t just a story about engine tuning. Lamborghini has put the Urus on a strict diet, employing a significant amount of carbon fiber to reduce weight and improve agility. The new hood, front bumper, rear diffuser, and prominent spoilers are all crafted from the lightweight material. Combined with a new titanium Akrapovič exhaust system that not only saves weight but promises a sharper V8 growl, the Performante is around 70 pounds lighter than the standard SE. The aggressive new aerodynamic package, including two separate rear spoilers, isn't just for show; it increases downforce for better high-speed stability and improves cooling for the brakes and hybrid powertrain.
Engineered for a Sharper Drive
Putting all that power to the ground effectively requires a sophisticated chassis, and Lamborghini has delivered. The Urus SE Performante introduces a new, innovative dual-chamber air suspension system dubbed “AURA”. This advanced setup is designed to provide the best of both worlds: it can significantly reduce body roll for sharp, precise track driving while also offering a more comfortable ride than the previous gas-only Performante model. The upgrades don't stop there. Lamborghini has added a model-specific “Rally” mode to the driving selector, encouraging owners to have some fun on less-than-perfect surfaces. A wider track and recalibrated steering complete the package, making the Performante feel more responsive and connected to the driver.
