In a significant validation of its academic excellence, IIM Bangalore’s two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) has been named the best in the country. On the global stage, the institute has climbed to the 21st position, a steady improvement
from 28th in 2025 and 41st in 2024. This achievement not only cements IIMB’s reputation but also makes it the only Indian B-School to break into the global top 25 this year. The FT ranking is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous assessments for business schools worldwide, making this recognition a major milestone. IIMB showed strong gains across these career-related metrics. The institute’s Career Progress rank improved significantly, as did its Careers Service rank, which moved up to 8th globally. The ranking also assesses diversity, with IIMB increasing the percentage of women on its board to 44%, and measures like the Alumni Network rank, where the institute climbed to 19th globally.
A Strong Showing for India Overall
While IIM Bangalore leads the charge, it is not the only Indian institution to feature prominently. A total of 14 Indian B-schools made it into the top 100, a strong showing that reflects a positive trend for the country's higher education sector. Following IIM Bangalore, SPJIMR Mumbai secured the 26th spot, with IIM Ahmedabad close behind at 27th. Other notable performers include XLRI, which jumped 25 places to rank 33rd, and IIM Calcutta at 39th. This means five Indian institutions are now in the global top 50. Indian schools particularly dominated on salary metrics, with IIM Ahmedabad reporting the single highest weighted salary in the entire ranking.
