The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is set to host a significant three-day workshop titled “AI in Action: Climate and Energy Systems Applications” from August 7 to 9, 2026. Organized by the AI4NetZero Team at the institute's EnERG Lab, this event
is designed to move beyond theoretical discussions and focus on tangible, hands-on applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in tackling pressing environmental challenges. The workshop aims to bring together a diverse group of students, researchers, and industry professionals, creating a collaborative environment to explore how data-driven techniques can accelerate India's transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future. This initiative highlights a growing trend in Indian academia: harnessing advanced technology to address real-world national problems.
Decoding India's Climate Dilemmas
