Introducing the New Landmark Edition
The headline act for the updated Discovery range is the introduction of the new Landmark Edition. This model is strategically positioned between the entry-level S and the top-tier Tempest variants, creating a new three-model lineup. The Landmark is designed
to celebrate the Discovery's rich heritage, which dates back to 1989. It distinguishes itself with a host of unique cosmetic details, including Graphite Atlas finishing on the grille and Discovery lettering, complemented by Carpathian Grey skid plates. It rides on distinctive 21-inch alloy wheels finished in a new Dark Agate Grey. A unique mountain logo also appears on the tread plates, B-pillar, and puddle lamps, paying homage to the adventurous spirit of the nameplate.
A Fresh Palette with a Historic Nod
One of the most exciting updates is the arrival of fresh paint options. Reserved exclusively for the new Landmark Edition is Tasman Blue, a metallic finish that draws inspiration from the original Clearwater Blue offered on the very first Discovery in 1989. This heritage colour provides a direct link to the model's past while feeling distinctly modern. Not to be outdone, the flagship Tempest model also gets its own exclusive new colour called Borasco Grey. For the Tempest, all exterior paint options now come with a matte protective film as standard, adding a contemporary, non-reflective finish and an extra layer of durability.
Upgraded Comfort and Tech Inside
The interior of the Discovery also sees a range of enhancements designed to boost comfort and luxury. The Landmark Edition's cabin features dark grey brushed aluminium trim and Tech Velour finishes on the dashboard and doors. In a nod to practical luxury, a sliding panoramic sunroof and a centre console refrigerator now come as standard on the Landmark, perfect for long family journeys. For the top-of-the-line Tempest, Land Rover has introduced two new interior colourways: Light Oyster and Caraway, both finished in plush Windsor leather. Furthermore, 20-way massaging front seats are now a standard feature on the Tempest, elevating passenger comfort to new heights.
Smarter, Safer, and More Focused
Across the entire updated Discovery range, Land Rover has introduced a new Driver Attention Monitor as a standard safety feature. This system helps to enhance safety on long drives by monitoring driver inputs for signs of drowsiness and providing alerts when needed. While the core Pivi Pro infotainment system with its large 11.4-inch touchscreen remains a highlight, the simplification extends to the powertrain. For several markets, including India, the focus is now squarely on the powerful and efficient 3.0-litre six-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine. This engine delivers a robust 350 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless performance whether on the highway or navigating challenging terrain. The legendary Terrain Response 2 system and air suspension remain, of course, guaranteeing the Discovery's go-anywhere capability.
The India Perspective
For the Indian market, this refresh streamlines the Discovery lineup and adds a compelling new option. The new Landmark Edition has already been listed on the Jaguar Land Rover India website, signalling its imminent arrival, although official pricing is yet to be announced. It will slot into the lineup alongside the S and Tempest editions, replacing some of the previous trims to create a clearer product hierarchy for buyers. The standardisation of the potent 3.0-litre diesel engine simplifies the choice for customers, providing a single, highly capable powertrain option. This move aligns the Indian offering with the global strategy, ensuring local buyers get the latest and most refined version of this beloved luxury SUV.
