The trailer kicks off with Professor McGonagall (Janet McTeer) leading the first-years into the Great Hall for the iconic Sorting Ceremony, a scene that feels both comfortingly familiar and refreshingly new.

We get our first proper look at John Lithgow as a kindly but formidable Albus Dumbledore and Paapa Essiedu as the deliciously acerbic Professor Snape, who wastes no time mocking Harry in Potions class. The footage is packed with iconic imagery: Harry seeing his parents in the Mirror of Erised, the troll in the dungeons, a game of Wizard's Chess, and the flutter of wings as Harry's beloved snowy owl, Hedwig, makes her debut.
