while 66% of professionals in AI and machine learning roles anticipate layoffs, engineers report the lowest concern among all tech functions. Only 24% of engineers described job cuts as 'very likely', and their overall 'at-risk' sentiment was below the survey average. This suggests a robust sense of security that seems to defy the broader narrative of uncertainty that has seen even Global Capability Centres (GCCs) moderate their hiring. This confidence isn't unfounded; it's rooted in a tangible and growing demand for specific, high-value skills that are becoming critical to modern industry.
The New Engines of Growth
The demand for engineering talent is no longer just about the traditional IT services boom that defined previous decades. Today's optimism is powered by the relentless march of new-age technologies. Fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics are creating a fresh wave of opportunities.
