An Ambitious Retail Footprint
FNP is putting a significant focus on growing its physical presence. The company plans to expand its retail network to approximately 350 stores by the fiscal year 2028, a notable increase from its current count of over 300 outlets. This expansion isn't
just about numbers; it's about strategy. The approach involves opening more company-owned stores in major metro cities while leveraging a franchise-led model to penetrate deeper into smaller towns and cities. This hybrid model allows FNP to maintain brand control in affluent urban areas while rapidly scaling its reach across the diverse Indian market, bringing its products closer to more customers. The expansion also supports the company's growing quick commerce ambitions by creating a wider network for faster fulfillment.
The Road to a Public Listing
Alongside its retail push, FNP is formally working towards an Initial Public Offering (IPO), with a target timeline of the end of calendar year 2028. This move to go public is a strategic step to raise capital for further expansion, potential acquisitions of other gifting brands, and overall business growth. Having already crossed the ₹1,000 crore revenue mark in FY26, the company is aiming to build a business with a revenue of ₹2,200-₹2,400 crore by the time it lists. This financial trajectory, coupled with a renewed focus on improving profitability, is designed to make the company an attractive proposition for public market investors. The global CEO, Pawan Gadia, has noted that investors now place a greater emphasis on earnings, prompting a strategic shift towards stronger core margins.
The Omnichannel Strategy
The dual focus on physical stores and a future IPO is part of a cohesive omnichannel strategy. FNP is not choosing between online and offline; it is using each to strengthen the other. Physical stores act as more than just points of sale. They serve as experience centers, build brand trust, and function as hyperlocal hubs for fulfilling online orders, including a growing demand for quick commerce deliveries in under an hour. This integration creates a seamless customer experience, where a customer might discover a product online and pick it up at a nearby store, or visit a store and then order for delivery. By controlling the entire journey, FNP can ensure quality and service, a key differentiator in the fragmented gifting market. This strategy has been part of FNP's DNA since its early days, allowing it to formalize an unorganized sector.
Market Context and Ambition
FNP's aggressive growth plans are set against the backdrop of a booming Indian retail sector. With a strong presence in India, which accounts for about 55% of its revenue, the company is also expanding internationally in markets like the UAE, Singapore, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, with plans for Malaysia and other Gulf countries. The company competes with other online players like IGP.com and FlowerAura, as well as the vast unorganized market of local florists and gift shops. By scaling up, FNP aims to solidify its leadership position. The funds from the potential IPO will provide the necessary firepower to not only expand its own operations but also to potentially acquire smaller brands, further consolidating its market share in a growing consumer economy.
