Mahindra & Mahindra's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, near Pune, has officially crossed the 30 lakh (three million) vehicle production mark. The historic vehicle, which rolled off the assembly line to commemorate this achievement, was
the upcoming Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV. This moment is not just a numerical milestone but a powerful statement about the plant's evolution into a future-ready hub capable of building both conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) and advanced electric vehicles. Operational since December 2009, the Chakan plant has become a cornerstone of Mahindra's production capabilities in India.
The Incredible Pace of Growth

While the plant took 107 months to produce its first million vehicles, the most recent one million units were manufactured in just 27 months. The 657-acre facility is a highly integrated manufacturing hub, currently producing 19 different models and over 450 variants, showcasing its immense flexibility.

Significantly, more than half of its energy needs are met through renewable sources, with the dedicated EV manufacturing section running on 100% renewable energy.
