What is the Amrit Bharat Express?
Launched as a cost-effective travel option, the Amrit Bharat Express is a non-air-conditioned train service designed for long-distance journeys. It caters to passengers who typically use general and sleeper classes. The trains feature a unique 'push-pull'
technology with locomotives at both ends, which allows for faster acceleration and deceleration, reducing travel time. Coaches are equipped with modern amenities like cushioned seats, mobile charging points, bio-vacuum toilets, and CCTV cameras, offering a significant upgrade over conventional passenger trains while keeping fares affordable. The primary goal is to serve high-density routes and connect migrant worker hubs with their hometowns, making travel more accessible and comfortable for millions.
