A Landmark Moment for Discovery
Land Rover has refreshed its Discovery lineup for 2026, introducing the new Landmark Edition. This model slots neatly between the entry-level S and the top-tier Tempest specifications, aiming to celebrate the essence of the iconic seven-seater. The 'Landmark'
name itself carries weight, having been used historically for run-out editions of previous Discovery generations, suggesting this could be a tribute as the current model matures. For buyers, it represents a package that bundles unique aesthetic choices with a host of desirable features, focusing on style without compromising the vehicle's renowned versatility.
A Nod to Heritage on the Outside
The most striking design detail of the Landmark Edition is its exclusive paint option: Tasman Blue. This metallic finish is a deliberate throwback, inspired by the Clearwater Blue available on the very first Discovery in 1989, connecting the modern SUV to its adventurous roots. The exterior is further distinguished by Graphite Atlas accents on the grille, side vents, and the prominent 'Discovery' script on the bonnet and tailgate. Carpathian Grey skid plates and all-new 21-inch alloy wheels in a Dark Agate Grey finish complete the sophisticated and cohesive look.
An Elevated Interior Experience
Inside, the design-led approach continues. The Landmark Edition features dark grey brushed aluminium trim with specific Landmark branding to set it apart. The dashboard and door casings are finished in a soft Tech Velour, adding a tactile element to the cabin's luxury. One of the most distinctive interior details is a unique wordmark and mountain logo. This emblem appears on the front tread plates, the centre console, B-pillar inserts, and is even projected onto the ground by the puddle lamps, paying homage to details found on past Discovery models. To enhance comfort on long journeys, a sliding panoramic sunroof and a practical centre console refrigerator come as standard fitment.
Substance Behind the Style
While the focus is on design, the Landmark Edition is still a formidable Discovery. In markets like the UK and India, the lineup is powered by the D350/3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine, providing ample power and torque for any adventure. This ensures that the vehicle's celebrated all-terrain capability remains intact, with features like Terrain Response 2 and a wading depth of 900mm giving drivers confidence on and off the road. The Discovery continues to offer a towing capacity of up to 3,500kg, reaffirming its status as one of the most versatile and capable family SUVs on the market.
A Refreshed Lineup
The introduction of the Landmark is part of a broader simplification of the Discovery range, which now consists of three core specifications: S, Landmark, and Tempest. The flagship Tempest edition also receives updates, including a new and exclusive Borasco Grey exterior paint option with a matte protective film. This strategic refresh aims to give each trim level a more distinct personality, from the versatile S to the design-focused Landmark and the ultra-luxurious Tempest. It's a move that sharpens the Discovery's appeal in a competitive market, ensuring it continues to be a compelling choice for families who need space, luxury, and true go-anywhere capability.
