The agenda is simple: relax in an overwater bungalow, snorkel or dive in crystal-clear waters, and soak in the unparalleled sunset views.

Clean, efficient, and packed with attractions, Singapore is a perfect family-friendly destination for a short trip. Direct flights are available from many Indian cities, taking around five to six hours. A well-planned itinerary can cover a lot in four days. Explore the futuristic Gardens by the Bay, enjoy the rides at Universal Studios on Sentosa Island, and indulge in the city’s legendary street food at hawker centres. You could explore the bustling city life of Bangkok, with its grand temples and vibrant markets, or fly directly to Phuket or Krabi to enjoy world-class beaches and island-hopping tours.

Our closest southern neighbour, Sri Lanka, offers a diverse range of experiences in a compact space. Flights to Colombo are incredibly short, taking just over an hour from Chennai and under four from Delhi. The country has a simple Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) process for Indians. In 3-4 days, you could explore the coastal charm and colonial architecture of Galle, visit a tea plantation in the central highlands near Kandy, or enjoy the vibrant culture of Colombo.
6. Bhutan
For a truly unique and serene escape, look no further than the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Indian nationals do not require a visa but need to obtain an entry permit, which can be done on arrival at Paro airport. You must also pay a daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of ₹1,200 per person. A short trip could focus on the western valleys of Paro and the capital, Thimphu.
