What is the Amrit Bharat Express?
The Amrit Bharat Express is a newer class of train service focused on providing an affordable and improved travel experience for long-distance journeys. Unlike premium services, these trains are designed for passengers in non-air-conditioned sleeper and general
unreserved coaches. A key feature is the use of 'push-pull' technology, where a locomotive is placed at both the front and rear of the train. This setup allows for quicker acceleration and deceleration, reducing overall travel time and improving operational efficiency on congested routes. The coaches also feature better amenities, including more comfortable seats, mobile charging points, and modern, bio-vacuum toilets, aiming to elevate the standard of budget travel.
