A Festive Fusion on the Menu
In a delightful nod to Bengal's biggest cultural event, Starbucks has unveiled a special, limited-edition menu curated specifically for the Durga Puja season in Kolkata. Titled “Aamar Pujo, Aamar Starbucks,” the campaign aims to weave the brand into the fabric
of local traditions, offering a unique gastronomic experience that marries traditional Bengali tastes with contemporary global formats. This move celebrates the spirit of the festival, which brings communities together through food, conversation, and shared joy. The initiative is more than just a menu; it's a cultural handshake, acknowledging the deep connection between food and festivity in the heart of Bengal.
Savoury Snacks with a Bengali Twist
The true stars of the show are the savoury items, which read like a love letter to Bengali cuisine. The menu features a creative Aloo Posto Burger, which takes the comforting flavours of the classic potato and poppy seed dish and places it in a modern context. For non-vegetarians, the options are equally tantalizing. The Kosha Mangsho Roll reimagines the iconic slow-cooked mutton curry as a convenient grab-and-go snack. Other highlights include a Shorshe Chicken Burger infused with pungent mustard, a classic Bhetki Bhaja Sandwich, a flavourful Chingri Turnover (prawn puff), and a Dhakai Chicken Wrap, each designed to evoke a sense of culinary nostalgia.
Sweet Endings and Festive Sips
A Bengali celebration is incomplete without dessert, and Starbucks has delivered on that front as well. The Pujo menu introduces two innovative sweets: a Gurer Sandesh Flan and a Kalakand Pie. These desserts deconstruct beloved Bengali sweets and present them in a new form, offering a fusion of textures and tastes that are both familiar and surprising. To complement the food, the beverage menu has also been given a festive update, with new additions like a Saffron Latte and a Choco Saffron Frappuccino, bringing warm, aromatic spice notes perfect for the season.
Where and When to Find the Festive Menu
This special Durga Puja menu is available across all 13 Starbucks stores in Kolkata, including the flagship Reserve Store at Quest Mall where it was launched. To cater to the pandal-hopping crowds, several iconic outlets, including those at Park Mansion, Southern Avenue, and Loudon Street, will open as early as 5 a.m. starting from October 10th. Food enthusiasts can enjoy this unique offering for a limited time, with the menu running from late September through the festive season, concluding on October 21, 2026. The main dates for Durga Puja this year span from October 16th to October 21st, giving everyone ample time to partake in this culinary celebration.
A Celebration of Local Culture
This initiative by TATA Starbucks reflects a growing trend of global brands embracing regional culture to create deeper connections with Indian consumers. By incorporating hyper-local flavours like 'aloo posto' and 'kosha mangsho', the company shows an appreciation for the region's rich culinary heritage. Mitali Maheshwari, head of Product and Marketing, noted that the menu aims to bring beloved regional flavours to the signature Starbucks experience. The positive reception on social media, where pictures of the menu have gone viral, suggests that customers are excited by this blend of tradition and modernity, proving that a well-loved brand can always find a new way to feel like home.
