An Industry-First Finish
Bentley's bespoke Mulliner division has unveiled a new 'Design Theme' exclusively for the Continental GT Supersports, and its centerpiece is a paint application unlike any other in the company's history. For the first time, Bentley is offering a side-to-side
exterior paint fade. This innovative technique sees a bold highlight colour on the driver's side of the car seamlessly blend into a darker, complementary shade on the passenger's side. It’s a dramatic visual statement that splits the car's aesthetic right down the middle, creating a dynamic, asymmetrical look that changes depending on the viewing angle. To complete the effect, an off-centre stripe runs from the bonnet to the boot, aligned with the passenger seat, further emphasising the car's driver-centric nature. A number '8' is also painted on the front grille, a subtle nod to Bentley's racing heritage.
Three Curated Themes
This groundbreaking paintwork is not just a single offering but comes in three distinct, curated themes created by Mulliner's designers. Each theme applies a unique personality to the Supersports. The 'Dragon' theme is perhaps the most dramatic, fading from a vibrant Dragon Red into a deep Black Crystal. For those seeking a sophisticated yet sporty look, the 'Electric' theme offers a transition from Electric Blue into Dark Sapphire. Finally, the 'Brodgar' theme presents a more understated and contemporary option, blending Pale Brodgar into the darker Brodgar shade. These themes extend into the car's two-seat cabin, with a corresponding two-tone layout that separates the driver and passenger areas, ensuring the interior is just as bespoke as the exterior. The brighter, more vibrant colour is always reserved for the driver's side, reinforcing the car's performance focus.
The Art of Bespoke
This new paint fade is more than just a new option; it's a testament to Bentley's commitment to pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship through its Mulliner division. Mulliner has long been responsible for Bentley's most personalised and unique creations, from hand cross-stitching and rare wood veneers to custom colour palettes. While the brand has offered complex paint finishes before, including satin and pearlescent options, this side-to-side fade represents a new level of artistry and technical skill. The process is a meticulous, hands-on affair, ensuring each vehicle is a flawless masterpiece. For customers who find the three curated themes too restrictive, Mulliner offers the ability to explore entirely unique paint combinations, making a genuinely one-of-a-kind vehicle possible.
A Fitting Canvas
It is no accident that Bentley chose the Continental GT Supersports as the exclusive recipient of this innovative design theme. Limited to a production run of just 500 examples worldwide, the Supersports is the most driver-focused and performance-oriented model in the Continental GT lineup. Stripped of its rear seats and engineered for agility, the car is powered by a non-hybrid twin-turbocharged V8 engine sending power exclusively to the rear wheels. Its aggressive carbon fibre bodywork, titanium exhaust system, and motorsport-inspired cockpit already set it apart. The new Mulliner Design Theme adds another layer of exclusivity, creating a visual identity that matches the car's extreme performance credentials and ensures that this already rare car becomes an even more coveted piece of automotive art. The new design is set to make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
