A recent US study has drawn a direct and startling line between the type of stove in a home and the severity of asthma symptoms. Researchers in Ohio provided electric induction stoves to 85 adults and children who had poorly controlled asthma and previously
used gas stoves. The results were dramatic. Participants reported a 70% decrease in emergency room visits and hospitalizations for asthma. Missed days of work or school due to the condition fell by approximately 80%. On average, participants' symptoms improved from moderate to mild.
