This marks a significant increase of nearly 19% in foreign student enrolment across India over the last five years, indicating the country's growing appeal as an educational destination. For UP, this number is a testament to its expanding higher education infrastructure, which includes the highest number of colleges in the country at over 8,000.

A combination of affordability, a wide range of academic programs, and strategic government policies are making Uttar Pradesh an attractive option. For many students, particularly from neighbouring countries like Nepal—which is the single largest source of foreign students in India—UP offers quality education at a fraction of the cost of Western universities.
