The Price of Ultimate Adventure
Let's address the big question first: what does this level of capability cost? Ducati India has launched the Multistrada V4 Rally with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹32.40 lakh for the classic Ducati Red colour scheme. For those wanting a more distinct
look, a Jade Green option with gold spoked wheels is available for ₹32.73 lakh. This positions the V4 Rally at the premium end of the adventure-touring spectrum, aimed squarely at serious enthusiasts who demand the best. It enters a competitive arena, ready to challenge established players like the BMW GS Adventure and the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer for the throne of the ultimate go-anywhere motorcycle.
More Grunt, More Miles
At the heart of this machine is the formidable 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, a powerhouse that delivers a staggering 170 hp and around 121 Nm of torque. While the peak power figures are familiar to Multistrada fans, the Rally edition introduces an extended rear-cylinder deactivation system. This clever tech shuts down the rear two cylinders not just at idle but also while moving at low engine speeds, improving fuel efficiency and reducing heat for the rider—a welcome feature in city traffic before you hit the open trail. This engine is paired with a massive 30-litre fuel tank, ensuring that your adventures are defined by the horizon, not by the distance between fuel stops.
Ready for the Rough Stuff
This is where the 'Rally' name earns its stripes. The bike features new, more robust spoked wheels with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear setup, ideal for off-road excursions. The suspension has received a significant upgrade with long-travel, semi-active Marzocchi Skyhook DSS EVO units, now offering 200mm of travel at both the front and rear. This not only soaks up bumps with incredible poise but also increases ground clearance to tackle serious obstacles. Reinforcing its off-road credentials are a tougher engine guard and a dedicated Enduro riding mode, which optimises power delivery and electronic aids for dirt and gravel.
Smarter and Safer Than Ever
Ducati has packed the V4 Rally with a formidable suite of next-generation electronics. The bike is the first in its class to feature a front and rear radar system, enabling both Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection. For 2026, this system is enhanced with a Forward Collision Warning feature. Perhaps the most innovative addition is the new Automatic Lowering Device; this function reduces the motorcycle's ride height at speeds below 10 km/h, making it significantly easier to manage the tall machine during low-speed manoeuvres or when coming to a stop. All this information is beautifully displayed on a 6.5-inch colour TFT dashboard with updated graphics and connectivity.
Long-Haul Comfort as a Priority
A true globetrotter needs to be comfortable, and Ducati has paid close attention to this. The windscreen is now wider and taller, providing better protection from the elements on long highway stints. Both rider and pillion seats have been designed for enhanced comfort over many hours in the saddle, and standard heated grips are a blessing on cold mornings. The ergonomics have been fine-tuned to offer a commanding yet relaxed riding position, whether you're standing on the pegs navigating a trail or cruising down the motorway. Even the centre stand has been redesigned to make lifting the bike easier. These thoughtful additions transform the Rally from just a capable bike into a truly luxurious long-distance travel companion.
